ACIMIT Technology Awards for NTU Students for Training in Italy, Last date 19 August 2019


ACIMIT (the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) and the Italian Trade Agency, with the aim of promoting awareness in the technologies that have rendered Italian manufacturers global industry leaders, and in fostering ties between Universities and Italian businesses, are happy to offer 2 awards for research in the field of textile machinery.

The initiative is promoted by the Italian Ministry for Economic Development, to support and promote synergy and forms of collaboration between Universities and Italian industry.

The National University of Textile (NTU) from Pakistan is selected for the subject mentioned initiative; realizing the existing collaboration of a training center which will be equipped with Italian textile machines soon.

The period of the course will be from 10 to 17 November with the first two days (11 and 12 November) training at the University and with a program to be defined, while for the remaining period (13-17 November) the program of company visits will take place; or specific training for your sectoral group organized by Association (at your own expense for the part relating to lunches and transport).

It’s also decided to unify the period of stay among all the groups, providing for a free day on Saturday (November 16th) and departure on Sunday (November 17th); to encourage the greater participation of all the students of all the groups in the planned activities, reserving for the day free any trips or itineraries of own interest.

The ICE-Agency will bear the expenses related to:

  • Travel award in Italy (round-trip economy class), Room and board for B & B for a week
  • Transversal training (related to management issues focused on Made in Italy) and joint awards
  • Visit to a science / technology park (to be agreed if of common interest)
  • The extra dinners and transports with respect to those for company visits or program activities are not included in the offer and therefore will be borne by students and professors unless they are supplemented by budget on individual sector orders.

Upcoming 7th Semester BS, MS, and PhD students are encouraged to submit their applications (CV, Letter of motivation, copy of academic certificates, recommendation letter from HoD/Supervisor and research paper as per format provided by Dean Office) until 19th August 2019 to the Office of Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
