Dr. Zulfiqar Ali is Chairman of Department of Yarn Manufacturing at National Textile University Faisalabad Pakistan. His main areas of research include: Functional Textiles; Modeling & Predicting Textile Behavior; Automation.

He has published more than 15 research papers. He is the 1st scholar who is awarded PhD in Textile Engineering by the Pakistani University. He  has won various awards such merit scholarships from 1st year to final year during BSc Textile Engineering. He got egregate top position and also final year top position in BSc Textile Engineering. He won Indigenous scholarship from HEC to complete MPhil leading to PhD.

He has experience of research as co-principal investigator in the HEC funded project number 1422. He is convener of University Character Building Society. He has taught various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Yarn Manufacturing, Yarn Production Engineering, Textile Raw Materials, Spinning Calculations, Textile Calculations, Post Spinning Operations, Prespinning processes 1 & 2, Technical Textiles and Non-woven Textiles.
