Dr. Yasir Nawab is an Associate Professor at the National Textile University, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Currently, he is working as Director (Dean) Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Chairman of Polymer Engineering department and leading the Textile Composite Materials Research Group. His research areas are Composite Materials, 2D & 3D woven fabrics and Finite element analysis. Three (3) PhD and fourty (40)  MS students have completed their degrees under his supervision. He is the author of over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, 5 books/book chapters and over 35 conference communications. He is the founding Director of National Center for Composite Materials.

He is a Textile Engineer and gold medalist (2004) from National Textile University. He completed his Masters in 2009 from (ENSAIT) Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Industries Textiles, France. He received his Ph.D from the University of Nantes, France in the domain of composite materials in 2012, which was declared as Remarkable Ph.D in science & Technology in that year. In 2013, he did his postdoc from the ONERA (The French Aerospace lab) and University of Le Havre, France. He received HEC's Best University Teacher Award for year 2016 and Dice Leadership Award in year 2018. He is fluent in English, French, Urdu and Punjabi, experienced in developing course curricula as well as executing field trips, laboratory exercises, and other activities beyond traditional lectures. He Has experience of working on various administrative posts including Head of Department, Dean, Director Graduate Studies and Research, Director Student Affairs etc. He is a member of Govt. Pakistan’s sub-working group on CPEC (Textiles), Focal person Technology Updgradation Fund (TUF) Scheme-Ministry of Textiles, Chairperson DiceTextile Pakistan and member of several national and international professional bodies. 

He has worked in Pakistani industry, and gained teaching and research experience from local as well as International institutes.
