Smart fashion, functional textiles and computer-based decision support systems for apparel and design technology. My current research is devoted to developing a knowledge based virtual training system for young technologist in the field of apparel manufacturing. Have developed a computer-based training system for self-paced learning. Another ongoing project is to study the impact of technology and cross-cultural traits on textile and fashion design developments. Working on Smart file for samrt garments

    Crescent Greenwood Ltd, Pindi Bhatian, Pakistan (1995 To 1996)

    Responsible for managing the department of Fabric Preparatory (Marking, Grading & Cutting) & garments fully equipped with state of art textile machinery, at a vertically integrated mill for making denim jeans. Responsible for manpower management and training of a workforce comprising of 150 technical and non-technical members.

  2. Manager Garment Preparatory Department
    Masood Textile Mills, Faisalabad, Pakistan (1996 To 1997)

    Managing the departments of fabric and garment preparation, ie, CAD, Marker Making, and automated cutting at a vertically integrated textile mill, manufacturing knitwear’s; also actively involved in developing the garment tracking, costing and management system based on barcodes. Manpower management of whole department comprising of approximately 200 workers.

    National Textile University, Faisalabad, Pakistan (1997 To 2002)

    Delivery of lectures and conducting practical in the subject of Basic weaving techniques, Apparel Manufacturing and textile Raw Materials. Development of teaching materials for different subjects. Participation in the ongoing research in department and performing the tests for the physical testing lab providing commercial services to the local industry

    Overall management of faculty and involved in teaching assignments. Teaching courses on weaving, textile raw materials, weaving theory and practice, Apparel technology, Industrial engineering/sewn product engineering, Design & Design Management, Textile Calculations, Colour Science for Designers and Mathematical Applications in Design. Carrying out research on Industry related problems, ongoing research projects are in the field of Apparel manufacturing, i.e. development of expert system for the training in apparel design and production. Taking on consultancy projects to clients in the fashion and Apparel industry with technical assistance to develop special fabrics, and minimize waste, and develop waste-management systems, Apparel production management, Textile & Apparel Costing and design management.
