Self-Assessment (Cycle I) of MS Textile & Apparel Program at National Textile University Karachi Campus


The Self-Assessment (Cycle I) of the MS Textile & Apparel Program was completed according to the Self-Assessment (SA) procedure of the HEC Self-Assessment Manual. 

Assessment Team (AT) comprised of Dr. Syed Talha Ali Hamdani (Associate Professor), Department of Textile Engineering, National Textile University, Faisalabad (joined through MS Team) with Dr. Deedar Hussain (Assistant Professor), Department of Textile Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi visited Department of Textile and Clothing, National Textile University, Karachi Campus and evaluated the MS Textile & Apparel Program on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Prof. Dr. Khalid Pasha, Director of the Karachi Campus accompanied by the Deputy Director, QEC Karachi Campus and the Head of the Department of Textile and Clothing greeted the Accreditation team (AT) during the opening meeting and appraised the NTU-KC academic activities.

Engr. Muhammad Haroon Shoukat, a Program Team (PT) member presented the Self-Assessment Report (SAR).  The AT team reviewed the SAR and ensured the accuracy of the data/information provided. Members of the PT, namely Dr. Muhammad Fahad, Engr. Muhammad Haroon Shoukat and Dr. Arsalan Ahmed, Head of the Department, elaborated on the MS program and successfully defended the SAR. Apart from a comprehensive review of documents and pieces of evidence about various assessment criteria, the AT team interacted with both faculty and students. They also visited program facilities, i.e., classrooms, conference rooms, laboratories, computing facilities, etc. The findings and recommendations of the AT were communicated during the exit meeting with the Director, Karachi Campus.

Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) team comprised of Mr. Muhammad Ayaz Shaikh, Deputy Director, and Mr. Muhammad Usman, Assistant Director were responsible for the planning coordinating, and executing the Self-Assessment activities.
