National Textile University Karachi Campus participated in the 3rd European Computing Conference (ECC)


On May 8th, 2024, National Textile University Karachi participated in the 3rd European Computing Conference held in Athens, Greece, under the organization of Prof. Nikos E Mastorakis. This conference gathered computing professionals and academics from around the world. Notably, a team from National Textile University presented pioneering research on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in analyzing the spread of COVID-19.

Due to the hybrid nature of the conference, National Textile University Karachi opted for an online presentation. The research team included:

  • Dr. Danish Hassan (Assistant Professor, NTU-KC)
  • Dr. Kashif Javed (Assistant Professor, UMT Lahore)
  • Usama Raza (Student, TMM Semester 8th, President of NSS-KC)
  • Syed Abdul Wasay Ali (Student, TMM Semester 6th, General Secretary of NSS-KC)

Under the supervision of Dr. Danish Hasan and Dr. Kashif Javed, the team conducted rigorous research titled "Analyzing COVID-19 Spread Using AI: Insights from 7 Countries' Data". Their study aimed to leverage AI to gain insights into the global spread of COVID-19.

In adherence to conference guidelines, Syed Abdul Wasay Ali, the General Secretary of NSS-KC and a student of TMM Semester 6th was nominated as the presenter. He effectively delivered the presentation, articulating the research findings and methodologies to the audience.

Following the presentation and Q&A session, the research paper was submitted for publication in the conference journal. The team was acknowledged with certificates of participation, recognizing their valuable contribution to the conference.
