The Textile Design Society of SOAD organized a one-day workshop titled “The Magic of Recycling”, conducted by Ms. Aroobah on 24 October 25. The interactive session focused on innovative approaches to sustainability with special reference to textiles. Ms. Aroobah shared her own creative projects along with inspiring works by her students, showcasing how simple ideas with a creative twist can transform discarded materials into beautiful and profitable products. She highlighted how cost-effective raw materials can be utilized to develop designs with commercial value, promoting both creativity and environmental responsibility.

During the workshop, students also attended demonstrations of useful techniques for textile waste management, gaining practical insights into how recycling and reuse can minimize waste and encourage sustainable practices. The session was an inspiring experience that motivated participants to view recycling not just as a necessity, but as a powerful design opportunity
