Muhammad Saqib is a Lecturer at the School of Arts & Design, National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad, Pakistan, where he also serves as the Program Director (Visual Arts). He is a Member of the Board of Studies (BoS), Convener of the Arts & Culture Society, and serves on the Skill Development Committee and NTU Alumni Management Committee, contributing to academic planning, curriculum development, and institutional quality enhancement.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Textile Design and Technology from the National Textile University, Pakistan, and an MPhil in Fashion from Wuhan Textile University, China. Prior to joining academia, he worked as a Fashion Designer and Team Lead at Batool, Lahore, where he led fashion collection development, textile print design, garment pattern development, and product execution.
His teaching and research interests include fashion design, sustainable fashion, circular fashion, ethical design, garment construction, pattern making, apparel product development, textile design, digital fashion, and fashion education. He actively supervises undergraduate thesis projects, encouraging students to develop innovative, sustainable, and industry-oriented design solutions while integrating contemporary design practices with academic research.
Muhammad Saqib has published peer-reviewed research in the areas of ethical design, sustainability, and textile history, including the journal articles Beyond Sustainability: Toward a Comprehensive Framework for Ethical Design (2026) and From Field to Fabric: Economic Foundations of Textile Trade in Islamic History (2025). He is also the author of the book chapter Analysis of Bodice Block in Garment Sizing and Pattern Making (Springer Nature Singapore, 2024).
Through his teaching, research, and academic leadership, he is committed to advancing sustainable and circular fashion, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and bridging academia with industry to prepare future designers for the evolving global fashion and textile landscape

• Led the design and development of seasonal fashion collections.
• Supervised textile print development, garment cuts, and sample execution.
• Assisted in trend research, collection planning, and product development.
• Teach undergraduate courses in Fashion Design, Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Human Ecology, and Digital Fashion Design.
• Develop course outlines, Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), assessment plans, and practical coursework in accordance with Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
• Supervise undergraduate thesis and final-year design projects from concept development to final exhibition.
• Organize academic exhibitions, thesis displays, fashion shows, workshops, and seminars.
• Mentor students in design research, portfolio development, and creative problem-solving.
• Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance, accreditation, and departmental academic activities.
