Faisalabad: Chairman HEC (Higher Education Commission) Dr. Tariq Banuri visited National Textile University (NTU) and had a brief meeting with the management and faculty. During the meeting, he talked about agendas of HEC which have to be implemented and desired to invest in economy, information technology, trainings for trainers in capacity building of faculty and universities. He urged on mobilizing resources especially in backward areas to establish learned society and promote gender equality. He shared issues, solutions and the outcome based policies to improve quality of education in Pakistan. Rector NTU, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain gave presentation about the Textile Industry of Pakistan and its current position in the regional as well as in the global scenario. He further said that education will pave the way for development of sustainable Pakistani economy and will bring economic and social justice in the country. He also talked that this would provide an exposure to broad perspectives and learning opportunities for faculty and students in the field of Textile and Garments.
Later, Rector NTU, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain presented souvenir to the Chairman HEC Dr. Tariq Banuri.
