Welcome to the School of Arts & Design at National Textile University, Faisalabad — a community where creativity is transformed into knowledge, ideas into experiences, and imagination into meaningful impact.

We are living through one of the most consequential periods in the history of art and design. Artificial intelligence, digital technologies, new materials, sustainability, changing consumer expectations, and rapidly evolving creative industries are redefining how we live, communicate, work, and create. In this environment, the role of the designer and artist is no longer confined to aesthetics. They are increasingly problem-solvers, storytellers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and agents of positive change.

Our ambition at the School of Arts & Design is therefore clear: to educate a new generation of creative professionals who can shape the future rather than simply respond to it.

Across Textile Design, Fashion Design, Visual Arts, Animation & Multimedia Design, Interior Design, and Digital Marketing & Creative Design, we seek to cultivate an environment in which artistic imagination is strengthened by critical thinking, technological capability, research, experimentation, and professional practice.

Our location within National Textile University gives us a distinctive advantage. It allows art and design to interact with textiles, materials, manufacturing, technology, business and sustainability. We intend to deepen these connections, creating opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration in areas such as digital design, artificial intelligence, sustainable materials, circular fashion, immersive media, creative technologies, and design-led innovation.

Yet even as technology transforms our disciplines, we must never lose sight of what makes great art and design enduringly valuable: human insight, originality, empathy, culture and purpose.

Pakistan possesses an extraordinary legacy of craftsmanship, textiles, visual culture, and creative expression. I believe our opportunity is not merely to preserve this heritage but to reinterpret it boldly for contemporary and global audiences. Our students should be equally comfortable learning from centuries-old craft traditions and experimenting with the technologies that will define the decades ahead.

Our vision extends beyond the classroom. We want our studios and laboratories to become places of exploration; our industry partnerships to address real problems; our research to generate new knowledge; and our graduates to create products, experiences, enterprises, and ideas that compete internationally.

We will place particular emphasis on excellence, experimentation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. Students must be encouraged to question conventions, take intellectual and creative risks, learn from failure and continually refine their craft. Education should not simply prepare them for their first job; it should develop the curiosity, resilience, and capacity for lifelong learning required to lead through continuous change.

Equally important is our responsibility to society. The best design is not only desirable, it is also responsible. It respects people, resources, culture, and the planet. Sustainability, ethical practice, inclusivity, and social responsibility must therefore become integral to how our students think and create.

I see the School of Arts & Design as a creative ecosystem, bringing together talented students, accomplished faculty, alumni, industry, artisans, researchers, entrepreneurs and international collaborators. By connecting these communities, we can create opportunities far greater than any discipline can achieve in isolation.

To our students, I offer a simple challenge:

Be curious. Be courageous. Master your craft. Embrace technology without surrendering your humanity. Question what exists—and imagine what could exist instead.

Our aspiration is not simply to produce successful graduates.

It is to develop creative thinkers and leaders capable of designing a better future.

I invite students, parents, alumni, industry partners, artists, designers, and collaborators from Pakistan and around the world to join us in that journey.
